INFORMATION FOR NEW PACK MEMBERS

Welcome to Hounds Lounge Pet Resort and Spa! On this page, we’ll dive into everything you need to know about getting all set up for your pup’s first day at the Lounge. If you’d like to learn more about everything we have to offer, please take a moment to watch our video.

About Hounds Lounge

Hounds Lounge began in 2016 after Mandy and her partner, Justin, were in a bind to find a dog boarding facility that met all their wishes and put safety furrst!

They believed there should be no compromises when it comes to the care of their fur babies – so they set off to create a facility and hire a team of caring humans that checked every box.

Several years and six locations later, they have created the best doggy daycare, dog boarding and grooming facilities in Arkansas.

Hounds Lounge has won numerous awards including “Best of the Best Dog Boarding & Pet Facility” since 2017 by Arkansas Democratic Gazette.

Locations

Hounds Lounge offers six locations in central and northwest Arkansas. Hounds Lounge is not a franchise and all locations are owned by Mandy and Justin.

Checklist Before the Furrst Day

Take a Tour

If you’d like to take a tour of Hounds Lounge first, you are welcome to stop in during lobby hours.

To accommodate you best, we recommend stopping in between 10 AM and 4 PM as we have a lot of drop-offs and pickups happening at the beginning and end of the day.

Create a Pet Profile

Creating a Pet Profile helps our human team make sure our records of immunizations, reservations and more are up-to-date!

All clients that want to drop off to utilize services must have a pet profile and make their first reservation online or over the phone so that our humans can ensure that your woof has current vaccines and meets our spay/neuter requirements.

Once our staff has had an opportunity to review your pet’s new profile, vaccines and other information, you will either receive a phone call from us to notify you what is additionally required before drop off or a confirmation email from us communicating that your reservation has been confirmed and that all you have to do is show up! We do require all furry guests to be on a leash upon arrival.

You’ll login here when you want to purchase a daycare package or create a boarding or grooming reservation.

Required Vaccines

Hounds Lounge requires all woofs to be up-to-date on the following vaccines prior to your stay:

– Rabies Vaccine (1 or 3 year)
– Bordetella Vaccine (encouraged every 6 months and must be given 48 hours before arriving at Hounds Lounge)
– Annual DHPP Vaccines (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
– Canine Influenza (both strains h3n2 & h3n8) Only required for out-of-state clients. Must have completed two booster vaccines that cover both strains of canine flu and meet two week wait requirement before visiting.

Recommended Vaccines:
– Leptospirosis

Young pups must complete their adult vaccination schedules at least two weeks prior to staying at the Lounge.

Sending Proof of Vaccinations

It is your responsibility to provide vaccine records for your woof. You or your vet can email proof of vaccinations to us.

You may upload vaccination records to your Pet Profile by logging in to your account on our website.

Alternatively, after your first reservation is requested, we will contact your vet to request vaccinations but please note that this will take 48-72 hours and sometimes we are unsuccessful in obtaining these from your vet.

You can send vaccine information to:
Email: houndslounge@shots.pet

On Your Fur Baby’s First Day

The first day of doggie daycare is free of charge and is considered a temperament test, although the temperament test is not required.

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the best days to try daycare for the first time because they tend to be slower, which helps your pooch and yourself adjust better. We also recommend dropping your fur babe off within the first hour of lobby hours on these days to ensure they are able to slowly meet new furriends.

We strongly discourage Thursday and Friday as your woof’s first day because they tend to be quite busy and may be overwhelming to your pooch.

For the first day of doggie daycare, we recommend staying for a half-day to see if your pooch is a good fit for group play.

You can read more about what to expect the first day on our blog.

We do not allow aggressive dogs or excessive barkers at the Lounge.

After your pup is deemed a good fit, you are welcome to attend doggie daycare any time or schedule a reservation for dog boarding. We also recommend attending daycare prior to boarding so your woof will feel at home during their stay. We know last-minute events come up, so this isn’t always possible!

Your pooch will likely come home from doggie daycare extra tired and thirsty. Don’t be alarmed, this is normal! We call this a #HoundsLoungeHangover. Our campers have access to water all day, however, they are having too much fun to drink as much as they should.

Health and Safety

Hounds Lounge believes that doggie socialization is super important for helping your dog become a well-adjusted pooch. Doggie daycare naturally comes with romping and playing, much like kids’ daycare. Doggie colds, injuries including scratches and bites and tummy bugs can happen.

The health and safety of our campers is a top priority here at the Lounge so please notify us if you notice your woof is having any health concerns out of the ordinary. Our team of humans promises to do the same!

Know-Before-You-Go FAQs

Totally up to you but please know that most furriends do not eat lunch while visiting with us for just the day because they know all their other furriends are still having a great time. We reccommend doubling down on dinner or breakfast instead but if you insist on bringing lunch, please note for the health and safety of your doggo, we will pull him/her for lunch for a minimum of 2 hours so that there’s enough time to digest lunch before heading back to the yard to pawty.

Females that have had their first heat cycle, cannot return until spayed. If your female furry kid goes into heat while playing or staying with us, we will make every attempt to call you or your emergency contact for immediate pick up. If we are unable to reach you or your emergency contact, we will have no other choice but to board at a local vet office and you are responsible for the charges.

Males are allowed to pawticipate in off –leash play up to 12 months old, unless behavior becomes an issue. The safety of our furry guests is our number once concern. Private retreat option is available most times for unaltered males that cannot pawticipate in off-leash play.

Reservations are required for grooming services and are preferred for overnight stays although we understand life happens and we will always try to accommodate. No reservations are required for daycare after your first day, a successful temperament test, and once your pup is up to date on required vaccines.

NO! At Hounds Lounge we want your dog to have a full day of exercise and socialization. If your dog does not socialize well with others or upon request or our discretion, your dog can have their own personal suite all day and will still be taken for one on one play with our trained humans to our outdoor play area for fresh air and potty breaks.

We strongly encourage you to bring your dog’s food when over-nighting with us. Sometimes new foods can upset your dog’s belly. If you cannot or would rather not bring your dog’s food, or if we run out during your dog’s stay with us, we will be happy to feed them our house dog food at no additional charge. When providing personal food, we ask that you bag each individual bag of food in zip lock bags because your scoop may be different than our scoop and this ensures that your fur kiddo has the same portion as at home. We do not have the space for large dog food bins or dog food bags.

Yes! We actually encourage dogs from the same home to stay together. Dogs from the same family that stay overnight in the same suite will receive a discount.

Absolutely! We will administer your dog’s medication while staying with us. We ask that you bring the medication in the original medicine bottle because this ensures that our staff will not have an allergic reaction to the medication. Please do NOT put medicine in dog food.

Our professional staff is CPR and Pet First Aid certified. We will make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact if there happens to be any illness or injuries. If we cannot reach you, Hounds Lounge will seek veterinary attention. In this case, all veterinary costs will be the pet owner’s responsibility. We treat each furry guest as our own at the Lounge.

Our lobby hours are 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Sundays. However, we will have staff at the facility 24 hours a day and you may have access to your dog outside of our lobby hours with prior arrangements. If you want to pick up your dog outside of lobby hours, you MUST make prior arrangements with our staff and additional fees will apply. We do reserve the right to refuse late pickup at any time.
